What to expect from the season!
Learn To Skate CompetitionÂ
The Pittsfield Figure Skating Club is excited to offer a Learn to Skate Competition! This is a fantastic opportunity for skaters to showcase their skills and elements in front of judges. All participants will receive a medal to commemorate their hard work and achievement! Please be aware that participation in the Learn to Skate Competition requires an entry fee. This fee helps cover the costs associated with running the event, including judge fees, ice time, and administrative expenses. We believe this competition is a valuable experience and encourage all eligible skaters to participate!
Private Lessons
One-on-one instruction with a professional coach is tailored to skaters' skill level and goals. It's generally recommended to have at least one year of LTS completed before starting private lessons. Skaters receive individualized feedback and drills to accelerate progress.
Holiday Skate
The Pittsfield Figure Skating Club invites members, their families, and friends to a complimentary holiday family skate in December, promoting a fun skating experience together.
Annual Show
The Pittsfield Figure Skating Club proudly presents an end-of-season ice show, a dazzling display of skill and artistry! Talented skaters of all ages and levels will take to the ice, showcasing months of hard work and dedication. From graceful solos to captivating group numbers, It’s a spectacular event that promises fun for the whole family! Please note that participation in the ice show requires additional expenses beyond regular skating fees, such as costume costs. Mandatory attendance at all scheduled show practices is essential. Skaters should also be prepared to attend supplementary rehearsals, including dress rehearsals, to ensure a polished and professional performance.
End of the Season Banquet
To mark the end of our season, the club holds annual banquet, typically taking place in April. Skaters are awarded badges and certificates for passing tests. The Jamie Drennan award is also presented at this banquet. This award serves as a tribute to Jamie Drennan, a cherished PFSC coach. The current coaches select the awardee based on their enthusiasm for the sport and their display of sportsmanship.
